one of a kind, jenna
my cousin got married 5 years ago and moved in to a new home. when they got around to re-doing the basement, she found several old newspapers (dating back to the 1920's and 1930's) in the floorboards. she held on to them for a while, wanting to display them in a creative way, but not sure how. just a few weeks ago, she asked if I had any ideas and if I wanted to take on the project. I jumped at the chance! what a unique opportunity! it was so entertaining to read bits and pieces of the advertisements and articles from so many generations past. I decided to cut and tear the newspapers (ever so carefully) and layer them on 16x20 canvases as a collage. I wasn't quite sure what the final product would look like, but I love the end results! I hope she will too.

count up/down blocks, jenna
it's that time in my life when I can officially say my friends are having babies. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet (I know I will love the little one when he gets here, but I don't feel old enough to have friends having babies!) ... but I do know that I love crafting for them. "Aunt Jenna" is going to spoil them rotten! here's gift number one (of many I'm sure):
